This training is for businesses interested in exploring the government marketplace. In this lunch and learn session we will discuss the similarities and differences between federal contracting and doing business at the state and local levels. We will discuss the FREE resources available to help you determine who buys what you sell and ways to let potential government customers know that you exist. We will also discuss various registrations and NAICS and Product Service Codes. The Oklahoma Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) and the US Small Business Administration, Oklahoma District Office, present “How to Become a Certified Woman, Minority, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business for Government Contracting.” The State of Oklahoma, local cities, and the federal government offer special set-aside government contracting opportunities for properly certified woman, minority, disabled US veteran, and economically disadvantaged owned businesses for contracts for goods produced and business services offered that are available for small businesses of all sizes. Come let presenters Dawn Brakey of the Oklahoma PTAC office and Stephanie Farris of the the Oklahoma District SBA Office explain to you the various small business certifications available, SBA programs offering support, and other local and federal free resources to assist you with all aspects of government contracting. - March 31, 11:30 - 1 pm - Marketing Your Business to the Government at Large - REGISTER
This training provides an overview and best practices for understanding what government buyers need and communicating your company’s value proposition to them.
