Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) was pleased to present Gary Harvey President and Owner of MJ&H Fabrication with the “Friends of Trade and Industry (T&I) Award this month. This recognition is awarded to individuals or organizations who have contributed significantly and provided exceptional support to Trade and Industrial Education programs and/or SkillsUSA in Oklahoma. Harvey was selected by members of the T&I division during the annual CareerTech Educator's Conference at Oklahoma Summit. Traci Thorpe, Superintendent/CEO of Pioneer Tech presented the award at MJ&H this week. “Gary is always willing to provide work-based learning opportunities for welding students. With his support, PTC has hosted a “Weld to Work” competition that guarantees employment to the winning contestant. He is very deserving of the Friends of T&I Award and is an excellent partner with Pioneer Tech.” The Weld to Work competition has also included students from Meridian Tech, Autry Tech and Cowley College. Other companies who have participated in the initiative were Mertz, Ditch Witch, and Airgas.
